EXPERIENCE
A “Friends”-themed exhibition and experience is setting up home permanently in London. Inspired by the iconic sitcom, The Friends Experience is set to open in a purpose-built location at London’s ExCel center this summer ahead of the show’s 30th anniversary this year.
The experience features full-scale recreations of the show’s sets, from Monica and Rachel’s apartment to the infamous “Pivot!” scene complete with couch, as well as costumes, backdrops, props and memorabilia. Guests can recreate some of their favorite on-screen moments and enjoy themed food and drinks as well as exclusive merch.
It has been created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, Original X Productions and Warner Bros. Television Group and is operated by U.K.-based The Luna Entertainment Group. Tickets can be purchased at www.FriendsTheExperience.com/London.

HOMECOMING

Philippines-born filmmaker Isabel Sandoval (Venice title “Lingua Franca”) has wrapped principal photography on her new film “Moonglow.” Sandoval, who also serves as the director, writer and on the project, plays a jaded female police detective in the 1970s Manila-set Filipino-language crime thriller. Her co-star, Filipino actor-politician Arjo Atayde, portrays an obsessively truth-seeking detective partner who is investigating the same heist that she covertly orchestrated.

“Moonglow” is a homecoming for Sandoval who was born and raised in the Philippines’ Cebu City. The last film she made in the country was “Apparition” (2013), before moving to the U.S.
The cast also includes Carlitos Siguion-Reyna, Agot Isidro, Dennis Marasigan, Paolo O’hara, Bombi Plata, Lizel Batucan, Frances Makil Ignacio and Sylvia Sanchez who is also a producer on the film. The film is produced by Alemberg Ang and Sanchez. It is a co-production between the Philippines’ Daluyong Studios and Nathan Studios, Japan’s Yaman Films Co, Ltd. and Singapore-based Momo Film Co.
YAKUZA RESTORATION
The U.K.’s Eureka Entertainment is releasing “Battles Without Honour and Humanity” filmmaker Kinji Fukasaku‘s 1964 film “Wolves, Pigs and Men” for the first time on Blu-ray from a new 2K restoration of the original film elements by Toei. The yakuza film is a treatise on brutality and brotherhood deploying elements of the French New Wave and American film noir, starring Rentarô Mikuni (“Harakiri”), Kin’ya Kitaôji (“Battles Without Honour and Humanity: Final Episode”) and Ken Takakura (“Abashiri Prison”).
In the film, Kuroki (Mikuni), Jirô (Takakura) and Sabu (Kitaôji) are three brothers born into poverty. Kuroki, the eldest, finds an escape from his squalid beginnings by turning to organized crime – and soon both Jirô and Sabu have followed him into the yakuza lifestyle. But none of the brothers see eye to eye, each of them showing more loyalty to their criminal comrades than to their siblings. Following a stint in prison, Jirô convinces Sabu to help him pull off a potentially lucrative heist, leading to a series of betrayals and violent acts that will test the bonds of blood to their breaking point.
The Blu-ray will be released Aug. 19 as part of Eureka’s Masters of Cinema series.
